DMO stands for Destination Marketing Organization and is sometimes referred to as destination management organization. The tourism industry is a trillion-dollar global business all vying for potential visitors to experience their destination. DMOs bring together entities that serve all aspects of the visitor experience from lodging, restaurants, attractions, and retailers to work collectively on what makes their community stand out as a tourist destination. The DMO also works with travel trade partners to provide travelers with information about the destination. Destinations with a strong DMO will be competitive, have increased visibility, and have a strong economic impact in their community.

Experience Montclair creates strategic alliances to drive tourism and increase economic growth and impact for the township of Montclair. Experience Montclair is the official destination marketing organization as designated by the State of NJ, Office of Travel and Tourism. We are the resource for and groups traveling to our region. We aim to put your business in front of this customer base through targeted exposure in advertising and travel show participation.

Experience Montclair operates as a division of the Montclair Center Corporation to widely broaden the visibility and reach it currently covers focusing on Montclair as a destination. Experience Montclair received funding through a grant from the NJ Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism. This grant is combined with membership dues to meet the goals of the organization.
