As Daysi De Dios drove past St. Paul’s Church at 205 Glenridge Avenue—long abandoned and forgotten—she saw more than just a crumbling building. She saw a future, a vision before anyone else could. Deep within, she knew this sacred space was meant to be the new home for Houss Freya.

Daysi’s journey began in 2017 with an online apothecary, a space where she curated spiritual and holistic offerings for seekers. In 2020, her vision expanded into a brick-and-mortar shop in Upper Montclair, providing a physical haven for her growing community. But as her dreams flourished, so did the need for a space that could truly encompass the magic she sought to create.

Her search led her to many locations, yet nothing felt quite right—except for the old church that seemed to call her name. And then, the unimaginable happened a “For Rent” sign appeared. After standing vacant for 16 years and facing potential demolition, the historic 19th-century church was given a second life. Daysi knew in her heart that this was meant to be.

Today, under her leadership, Houss Freya breathes new energy into the space, honoring its past while embracing its new purpose. It has become more than just a shop—it is a sanctuary, a gathering place for those seeking magic, connection, and transformation.

Through community events, workshops, and sacred offerings, Houss Freya continues to weave history and spirituality together, reminding us of all that when dreams are nurtured, they have the power to manifest into something truly extraordinary.
